Hi, I’m Katrina, a counsellor and psychotherapist working in Edinburgh and Dalkeith, Scotland.
I have always loved stories which led to an early love of books and reading, I still enjoy reading, though also like some non-fiction books now too. I also enjoy watching films and a good tv show binge, especially in the colder months!
I enjoy being in nature and travelling to new places both near and far and I can often be found going for walks, with a break for coffee of course! I also like DIY and home improvement, though confess to taking a while to actually finish the projects I start.
I worked as a primary teacher prior to being a counsellor, I taught all ages and worked in support for learning. As a support for learning teacher, I naturally worked closely with families and part of my role was listening to parents and children to identify how to provide support and make referrals. I came to recognise the beneficial impact of counselling for both adults and children, at the same time as I took a course in counselling skills for work (the COSCA Certificate for Counselling) and my next direction in life became clear to me.
As a counsellor I am passionate about empowering my clients and providing a space where you can be accepted and understood.
